About Denise

Denise Gifford was born and raised in Indiana Harbor and has been a resident of Crown Point for the past 13 years. She worked in the legal field for 18 years, both in Northwest Indiana and Chicago. She married in 2014 and is the proud mother of two daughters, as well as an Aussiedoodle named Belle. In 2023, after discovering CHN through a community newsletter, Denise was inspired to volunteer during the hours her youngest daughter was in school. Growing up in a less-than-affluent community, she felt passionate about CHN’s mission to combat food insecurity. With her background in legal and writing, Denise began serving as Corresponding Secretary in 2024, later accepting a position on the Board in January 2025. She is excited to continue serving her community and contributing to CHN’s impactful work.
